New energy vehicles include: natural gas-fueled vehicles, hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles, methanol-fueled vehicles,

clean gasoline vehicles with the most stringent emission and fuel efficiency restrictions.

In the long history of human history, two changes in the transportation energy power system have been experienced.

Each change has brought tremendous changes to human production and life, and has also achieved economic take-off in the leading countries or regions.

The first change occurred in the 1960s, with the birth of steam engine technology as the main symbol.

It was coal and steam engine that greatly improved the productivity of human society, created human industrial economy and industrial civilization,

and triggered the European Industrial Revolution. Make European countries become world economic powers at that time.

The second change took place in the 1870s. Oil and internal combustion engines replaced coal and steam engines,

transforming the world ’s economic structure from light industry to heavy industry. It also contributed to the economic take-off

of the United States and brought humanity into the oil-based economy. System and material prosperity.

In this article, we mainly introduce Ethanol.

Ethanol
Ethanol is commonly referred to as alcohol. In layman's terms, cars that use ethanol as fuel can also be called alcohol cars. The activity of using ethanol to replace petroleum fuels has a long history. Both the production and application technologies are very mature. Due to the shortage of petroleum resources, the diversification of automobile energy sources has intensified, and ethanol vehicles have also mentioned the agenda.
There are already more than 40 countries in the world that use ethanol vehicles to varying degrees, and some have reached a larger scale of promotion. The status of ethanol vehicles is increasing day by day.
The use of ethanol in automobiles can increase the octane number of the fuel, increase the oxygen content, make the combustion in the automobile cylinder more complete, and can reduce the emission of harmful substances in the exhaust gas.
Fuel application methods of ethanol vehicles:
1. Blending refers to the blending application of ethanol and gasoline. In the mixed fuel, the ratio of ethanol to volume is represented by "E". If ethanol accounts for 10% and 15%, then E10 and E15 are used. Blended combustion accounts for ethanol cars.
Second, pure burning, that is, single burning ethanol, can be expressed by E100%, and there are not many applications, which belongs to the trial stage;
3. Denatured fuel ethanol refers to ethanol produced by adding denaturant after dehydration of ethanol, which also belongs to the experimental application step;
4. Flexible fuel means that the fuel can be used with gasoline, or a mixture of ethanol or methanol and gasoline, or hydrogen, and can be switched at any time. For example, Ford and Toyota are experimenting with flexible fuel vehicles.
